How to Choose the Right Cat Bowl

A cat bowl is worth choosing on more than price or colour alone. Material, shape, height and ease of cleaning all change how practical it is for both your cat and your home.

1. Ceramic, stainless steel or wood: material changes both care and appearance

Ceramic: substantial, stable and easy to clean

Ceramic has useful weight, so it tends to stay in place during meals, while a smooth glazed surface is straightforward to clean. Ro and Löv are both ceramic but use very different shapes for different feeding needs.

Stainless steel: light, durable and practical

Bo uses two removable stainless-steel bowls that lift out for quick filling and cleaning, set into a stable raised base.

Wood: best used as a stand rather than the food-contact surface

3. Floor-level or raised?

Bo raises its bowls by around 10 cm, Löv by 7.5 cm, and Lerk adds a smaller amount of elevation through its wooden stand. Ro stays deliberately low and wide because its main purpose is to slow access to food.

4. Everyday cleaning

Whatever material you choose, wash food bowls regularly and keep water bowls clean and freshly filled.
